I’ve been wracking my brain trying to remember if people were like this to Bush. I just can’t seem to recall just blatant hate and nastiness. It disturbs me how much rage people have towards our President and how they expect him to snap his fingers and fix this country. He has YEARS worth of crap to clean up yet every problem we have right now is because of him, if you listened to these people.

Sigh. Thank you for this. You said everything I’ve been thinking for quite some time.

This makes me so angry! I never hated Bush enough to want him dead…just voted out of office!

People like that are so ignorant. I can guarantee they probably know nothing about him except what Rush says.

It’s a shame that such a lot of (the noisier, on the whole) people seem to have the unfortunate combination of short memories and over-high expectations. Even from here in the UK I’ve noticed a distinct cooling down of the attitude towards President Obama since a year ago. I think that some people expected him to achieve world peace, universal healthcare and zero unemployment by the summer holidays, just in time to go to the beach! It’s so frustrating to see so many not realising how long it takes to turn things around.

We have a similar problem here at the moment. A lot of Brits ranted and raved about Tony Blair and said they couldn’t wait for Gordon Brown to become Prime Minister, but now the daggers are out for him. As far as I can see, he’s a intelligent and well meaning man doing the best he can with limited support. I’ll be very sad to see him go if Labour lose the election in May. David Cameron and the Conservatives getting in would be to me like George W Bush and the Republicans walking back into the White House for you. It’s a long shot, but lets hope that the talkative people get a better sense of perspective soon, and realise that actually we’ve not got it bad at all!

I just keep reminding myself that had it been Bush, the protesters wouldn’t have been allowed anywhere near the motorcade.

It amazes me that these are the same people who used to say that any negative thing said about the president meant you were unAmerican or traitor (or both).

I have to read transcripts now because I can’t watch the bad behavior and I can’t let my son watch that kind of behavior. It’s not appropriate. It wasn’t appropriate when directed at Bush and not appropriate now.
